This website
This static site does not have its own email-signup form, user accounts, advertising pixels, or analytics scripts. It does not use browser storage or set cookies through its own code. Your hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to deliver and secure the site.
Newsletter subscriptions
Subscription buttons take you to our publication on Substack. You submit your email address there, not through a database on this website. Substack’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use apply to its services. Newsletter emails include an unsubscribe link.
Emails and reader memories
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send. We use it to respond and manage the conversation. We ask permission before publishing a reader’s personal story.
Affiliate recommendations
Some future articles or recommendations may include affiliate links. When we use a link that can earn a commission, we identify that relationship near the recommendation. Buying through those links can support Away Msgs.
The product link in the sample Halloween letter is currently an ordinary, untracked publisher link. It is not presented as a paid endorsement.

Paid placements are labeled near the placement. A brand mention on its own does not mean a company sponsors Away Msgs.
